Yoga
— Yoga Bio —
From a young age, Sam has harnessed a passionate creativity and sought a deeper connection to the Divine Love. She was introduced to yoga in 2005 during her training as an actor, and knew immediately this practice was what she had been searching for.
Sam journeyed to Mexico in 2013 to immerse in the trainings of Tantra (via lineage of Rod Stryker and Pandit-ji) with Ayurvedic guru Katie Silcox and shamanic healer Meredith Hogan, where she received her 200hr RYT training, which drew extensively from Forrest Yoga, Para Yoga, Bhakti, and Wise Feminine and Shamanic Practices. Immediately after, she began her teaching career in Los Angeles, where her classes quickly became sought after spiritual and community sanctuaries. Her unique style grew so much attention that she was invited to teach yoga in Ubud, Bali during the summer of 2014. She received her 500hr RYT training in Sacred Valley, Peru from School Yoga Institute in early 2016.
An advanced teacher, Sam has taught all around the world, offering workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings. She facilitates Yoga and Wellness retreats, offers a variety of deep and rich workshops and ceremonies, Continuing Education Trainings, and is honored to be a Teacher Trainer with Sacred Paths Yoga, where she leads 200Hour Teacher Trainings and Immersions in Bali, Costa Rica, Peru, Guatemala and Mexico.
Outside of the studio, Sam travels all around the world, gaining insight from meditation retreats in the jungles of Colombia, to healers in Indonesia, to studying with medicine women in Peru, and even to a transcendental macaroon on the streets of Paris. She is an avid student of tribal cultures, and a humble devotee of ceremonial practices.
Drawing inspiration from Ancient texts to native traditions to modern literature, Sam’s yoga classes are warm, inspiring, poetic and soulful. She is known best for her communal classes that are held in the style of a deeply spiritual ceremony. She draws extensively from the teachings of Tantra, and encourages an equal and harmonious balance of spiritual fulfillment and worldly fulfillment.
Sam is also fiercely committed to making yoga for all beings, and to actively decolonizing yoga in the west, as well as bringing awareness to the very needed anti-racism work in the yoga and healing world to make yoga available for all our relations.
She absolutely loves sharing yoga and the secrets of unlocking the body as a pathway to the soul, and looks forward to sharing with you.
